Damascus, Jan. 29 (SANA) Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab met on Thursday with an official Austrian delegation to discuss cooperation on migration, border management and voluntary return, the Ministry said.
The delegation included Austria’s special envoy to the Middle East, Ambassador Arad Benko, senior officials from Austria’s Interior Ministry responsible for migration, international affairs and integrated border management, as well as Austrian Embassy officials.
According to the Ministry, the talks focused on migration and asylum issues, border management, the regulation of humanitarian movement and ways to coordinate policies and procedures between the two countries. The discussions also covered exchanging expertise in border control and organizing asylum processes and voluntary return.
The ministry added that the meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation in a way that supports security and stability in both countries.
