Lattakia, Jan.24 (SANA) Internal Security forces in Lattakia province have arrested three members of a terrorist cell involved in targeting internal security personnel and the Syrian Arab Army.
The Internal Security Command carried out a series of coordinated and precise security operations in the areas of al-Haffeh, al-Qardaha, and Jableh, resulting in the detention of three individuals linked to a terrorist cell.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Interior said the detainees include Mujana Ghiyath Mahmoud, arrested in al-Haffeh and identified as the manufacturing officer of the terrorist cell known as “Saraya al-Jawad,” along with Jaafar Same’e Hassan in al-Qardaha and Adham Ghiyath Mahmoud in Jableh, all of whom are affiliated with the same cell and implicated in assaults targeting internal security forces and the Syrian army.
The ministry noted that during the carefully executed security campaigns, units seized a number of improvised explosive devices, various weapons, ammunition, grenades, and military gear, which had been prepared for use in terrorist acts threatening citizens’ safety and societal stability.
All seized items were confiscated, and the suspects were handed over to the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal measures, ensuring they are held accountable in accordance with applicable laws.
Earlier this month, Internal Security forces in northern rural Lattakia, in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Branch, arrested senior figures in a criminal cell known as “lieutenant Abbas,” affiliated with the so-called “Coastal Shield Brigade.”
