Damascus, Jan. 18 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Mohammad Anjarani, confirmed on Sunday that the official in charge of local administration in Raqqa has been instructed to begin reactivating government institutions and local councils, marking the restart of essential services in tandem with the Syrian Arab Army’s entry into the area.
In a post on X, Minister Anjarani stated: “We are closely monitoring this operation at every stage to ensure we are ready to serve our people and meet their needs in these regions.”
Earlier, the Syrian Arab Army announced it had taken control of the city of Tabqa, the Euphrates Dam, and numerous surrounding villages and towns in Raqqa countryside, as well as several oil and gas fields, after expelling PKK-affiliated militias from these areas.
The move aims to restore state authority, ensure the delivery of public services, and stabilize life for local residents following years of disruption caused by armed groups.
