Damascus, Jan. 18 (SANA) Syria’s Minister of Energy, Mohammad Al-Bashir, said on Sunday that the current uprising in the Jazira region represents more than a popular movement, describing it as a restoration of rights and resources to their rightful owners.
Speaking on the significance of the region, Al-Bashir stressed that growing public awareness underscores the national responsibility to protect public facilities and vital infrastructure, calling them “the backbone of daily services and a cornerstone of economic recovery.”
“The return of Jazira’s resources to the Syrian people opens broad prospects for reconstruction efforts, revitalizing agriculture, energy, and trade, and building a resilient national economy grounded in the country’s natural wealth and the efforts of its citizens,” he said.
The Raqqa Media Directorate has announced earlier Sunday that SDF organization blew up the old bridge and the newly constructed al-Rashid Bridge over the Euphrates River in Raqqa city.
As a result, the water pipelines that supply Raqqa city were destroyed, and the city’s water supply was completely cut off.
