Aleppo,Jan. 14 (SANA) The Syrian Arab Army’s Operations Command announced on Wednesday the opening of a humanitarian corridor toward Aleppo city, saying the passage will be opened on Thursday via Hmemeh village on the M15 main road linking Deir Hafer with Aleppo.
In a statement, the Operations Command said: “We draw the attention of our people residing in the previously specified eastern Aleppo area—identified via the screens and platforms of al-Ikhbariyah channel—that a humanitarian corridor will be opened tomorrow toward Aleppo city.” It added that the corridor will pass through Hmemeh village on the Deir Hafer–Aleppo M15 highway.
The statement urged civilians to stay away from positions of the SDF organization and the PKK terrorists in the area previously specified.
The Operations Command also said the Syrian Arab Army will take a number of measures “to eliminate any threat that affects the security of the area and citizens.”
On Tuesday, the Operations Command announced that the Deir Hafer and Maskanah areas and their surroundings in Aleppo’s countryside had been declared a closed military zone, following what it described as continued mobilization by SDF organization groups alongside PKK terrorists and remnants of the ousted regime in the area.
