Aleppo electricity starts power repairs in Sheikh Maqsoud to Support return of citizens

Aleppo, Jan.12 ( SANA ) The Aleppo Electricity Company has launched an urgent project to repair damaged power grids and high-voltage lines in Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods, as part of a broader plan to rehabilitate essential infrastructure and accelerate the return and resettlement of citizens.

Maintenance and emergency teams began Monday work immediately after the liberation of the two neighborhoods, focusing first on transformer stations and then on fully rehabilitating the medium- and low-voltage grid systems to ensure safe and stable electricity supply for subscribers.

Engineer Mohammad Abdel Qader, head of emergency operations at the Aleppo Electricity Company, told SANA that the teams are working at full capacity to address the extensive damage inflicted on the electrical infrastructure.

He added that following the liberation of Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud, the staff moved directly to transformer centers to restore the medium- and low-voltage systems, secure electricity for residents, and guarantee their return to homes.

He stressed that the staff are fully engaged in extending networks that were cut or damaged during clashes with the SDF organization, while also repairing poles and transformer stations.
