Ankara, Dec.8 (SANA) Turkey congratulated the Syrian people on Liberation Day on Monday, affirming that Ankara will continue to strongly support efforts aimed at achieving stability, security and prosperity in Syria, according to the Foreign Ministry statement.
In its statement, the Ministry said: “We wholeheartedly congratulate the Syrian people as they celebrate their day of freedom.” The statement added that, despite numerous challenges over the past year, the Syrian government has pursued a foreign policy marked by wisdom and peace.
According to the Ministry, the Syrian government has taken firm steps toward attaining the respected international standing that Syria deserves, with Ankara reiterating its commitment to continued support.
Across Syria, citizens are marking the first anniversary of the country’s liberation from the former regime, as hundreds of thousands joined celebrations from early morning to express their joy and hopes for a future built on peace, freedom and prosperity.
