Five ex-officers arrested in Lattakia in probe of Abuses, Killings

Lattakia, Dec. 01 (SANA) Internal Security Forces in Lattakia have arrested five officers who served under the defunct regime following a series of carefully executed security operations, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

The Ministry said in a statement that the detainees had held “sensitive positions” during the era of the defunct regime, including serving as physicians and military judges at Tishreen Military Hospital in Damascus.

According to initial investigations, the five are accused of involvement in serious wartime violations, killings, and covering up other crimes allegedly committed against several civilians inside multiple detention facilities operated by the defunct regime.
