The Cathedral of the Forty Martyrs in Bustan al-Diwan in Homs launched the “Winter Wishes” Christmas fair on Thursday. The event drew large crowds and created a joyful atmosphere for local families.
Father Isaac Sawan, priest of the cathedral, told SANA that the fair is held during the Christmas season to bring happiness to the community. It includes activities and games that reflect the spirit of love and peace. He expressed hope that goodness will prevail across the country and that compassion will continue to unite Syrians.
Event organizer Amjad Ghali explained that the fair was designed to create a joyful environment throughout December. Programs are tailored for all age groups, including games, food, and entertainment. The celebration will run for three days.
Churches in Homs traditionally host annual Christmas activities ahead of the holiday. These events aim to strengthen social and religious bonds while offering families opportunities for recreation and togetherness, in keeping with the spirit of the season.
