Syria and Libya discuss media cooperation at Arab Information Council in Cairo

Syrian Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa met with Libya’s Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid al-Lafi, to explore prospects for media cooperation between the two countries.

The talks, held on the sidelines of the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Cairo, addressed the challenges facing Arab media amid rapid regional and international developments.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination within Arab frameworks, particularly the Council of Arab Information Ministers, to develop a unified Arab media discourse and counter disinformation campaigns.

In a related development, the Council unanimously voted to designate Damascus as the Arab Media Capital for 2028, underscoring Syria’s re-emergence as an influential player in the Arab media landscape.
