Al-Furonlq Forests in Lattakia:  a natural tourist reserve at the Syrian coast

Lattakia, SANA-Al-Furonlq Forests in Lattakia Governorate are a nature reserve rich in biodiversity, forming a vibrant green lung and a model for ecotourism and sustainable development.

This has made the place a favorite destination for nature lovers and those seeking tourism experiences that combine environmental beauty and natural awareness.

Director of Lattakia Tourism, Fadi Nizam, said that the growing demand for ecotourism in the region reflects fruitful cooperation between the Agriculture Directorate, administrative units, and the local community, with the aim of protecting forests and perennial trees, promoting cleanliness, and preventing fires with the support of youth movements.

Nizam pointed out that the directorate encourages camping activities in Al-Furonlq and other locations such as Mashqita, Salanfa, and the Valley of the Kings, with promotion via online platforms and social media, in addition to the contribution of content creators and influencers to attract tourists and expatriates.
