Damascus, March 5 (SANA) The National Commission for the Missing in Syria signed a memorandum of understanding Wednesday with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to provide technical support and strengthen the commission’s institutional capacity in addressing missing persons cases.
The memorandum focuses on strengthening institutional development, improving digital infrastructure and data management systems, and enhancing referral mechanisms and coordination among relevant national entities.
The commission said on its Telegram channel that the step is part of efforts to develop its institutional and technical tools in line with international best practices for handling missing persons cases.
It also aims to improve information management and coordination of the national response in a way that serves families of the missing and supports their right to truth.
The partnership aims to strengthen cooperation with international partners and support the development of a sustainable national institution capable of addressing missing persons cases and building trust with families and Syrian society.
