SARC Sends 10 Aid Trucks to Daraa

Damascus, SANA-Syrian Arab Red Crescent Organization (SARC) sent 10 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to Daraa province, as part of its response to the southern region and the urgent needs of families due to recent events.

The organization said in a statement, that the trucks that arrived are in addition to seven other trucks that arrived today in Daraa, bringing the total number of trucks to 17, all of which cover the needs of approximately 5,000 families who were forced to flee from Sweida to shelters or host communities.

It also noted its preparations to dispatch a similar convoy to Sweida within the next two days.

According to the statement, the 17 trucks include medications, medical supplies, and water tanks to support essential services in areas where displaced families have gathered. Additionally, they carry 7,000 kilograms of flour to support bakeries, 4,600 food baskets, and 10,000 bottles of water.

The organization pointed out that this aid was made possible with support from the Embassy of the State of Qatar, the Qatari Red Crescent, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the German Red Cross, the World Food Programme, and UNICEF.

It added that Syrian Arab Red Crescent teams are continuing to assess the readiness of shelter centers in Daraa Province, which include 12 centers in the eastern countryside and one center in the western countryside, in order to determine needs and ways to meet them.
