Governorates, SANA – Syrian journalists and media professionals held solidarity protests in several governorates on Monday in support of Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip and condemn the crimes committed against them by the Israeli occupation forces, the latest of these crimes was the targeting of an Al Jazeera crew and other journalists this morning, resulting in the deaths of several of them.
During the solidarity protests held in Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, Idlib, and Daraa, banners were raised calling for the protection of journalists and the criminalization of the Israeli occupation’s violations against them. Participants expressed their full solidarity with the people of Gaza, who are suffering as a result of the ongoing war waged by the Israeli occupation on the Strip since October 7, 2023, and the stifling blockade imposed on them.
Participants underscored the role of the Media outlets in uncovering the truth and called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to stop the targeting of journalists and civilians in Gaza.
