Istanbul, SANA-Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stressed Saturday the necessity of continuing to stand with the Syrian people, coinciding with the process of easing sanctions imposed on Syria.
Anadolu Agency quoted Fidan as saying during the opening session of the 51st Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul: “We welcome Syria’s return to the OIC.”
Fidan noted that Istanbul is one of the most important centers for regional and international peace efforts in the region, stressing that Turkey, under its current rotating presidency of the OIC, will continue to raise the voice of the Islamic world, prioritize the establishment of global justice, and stand firmly against injustice.
