London, SANA- Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Jihad Azour, revealed that an IMF delegation is set to visit Syria this week. The mission aims to closely assess the country’s financial and economic conditions.
In an interview with Asharq al-Awsat, Azour stated that the delegation will examine Syria’s institutions to determine their needs and the necessary technical support. The visit seeks to establish a comprehensive cooperation framework that outlines priorities for providing technical advice and training key personnel.
Earlier this month, in an interview with Jordan’s al-Mamlaka TVchannel, Azour affirmed official communication between the Syrian government and the IMF, emphasizing the Fund’s readiness to support Syria.
