Aleppo, March 28 (SANA) – Aleppo Governorate has launched a large-scale campaign to remove roughly 150,000 cubic meters of rubble and earth barriers and reopen key roads across several neighborhoods. The effort is part of ongoing initiatives to rehabilitate war-damaged areas and improve mobility in the city.
The operation, carried out with the participation of the Aleppo City Council, Syrian Arab Army engineering units, and Civil Defense teams, targets the al-Layramoun roundabout and the neighborhoods of Bani Zeid, al-Ashrafieh, and al-Sakan al-Shababi.
Engineering teams first inspected and secured the sites, checking for explosives and other remnants of war before starting debris removal and road clearance.

Ammar Abdul Rahman, director of the Aleppo Civil Defense Center, said work is currently underway in Bani Zeid and al-Sakan al-Shababi, alongside specialized units tasked with removing unexploded ordnance and other war remnants. He added that roads in the Layramoun industrial area will also be reopened, a step expected to improve movement for residents and access to services.
Abdul Razzaq Saleh al-Hajji of the Aleppo City Council’s services department said the campaign is expected to last between one week and ten days.
Officials noted that the effort is part of a broader municipal plan to rehabilitate neighborhoods, restore road access, and enhance services for residents.
