Turkish- Lufthansa joint airlines: We see Syria as an opportunity for growth and an attractive future market

Ankara, SANA- SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa said it sees Syria as an opportunity for growth and an attractive market to tap, once the necessary technical and safety conditions are met.

“We see Syria as a promising growth opportunity and an attractive market, in general there are still pockets out there, where you can tap into new markets and I definitely think Syria is one of them. And it is interesting on multiple fronts, not only on the tourism front,” Reuters quoted the CEO of SunExpress, Max Kownatzki as saying in a statement.

However, he added that SunExpress needed to firstly examine issues such as safety protocols, appropriate aircraft types, before taking any concrete steps toward the Syrian market.
