Aleppo, Jan. 8 (SANA) The Aleppo Central Response Committee announced Thursday that it has received 142,000 displaced persons from the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods and surrounding residential areas following an escalation by the SDF organization, including 13,000 today.
The Committee stated that evacuated residents from the affected neighborhoods were sheltered in 12 temporary centers in Aleppo city and Azaz and Afrin areas.
It added that during the evacuation operations, the SDF organization shelled areas around the humanitarian corridors and residential neighborhoods in central Aleppo with several projectiles. The attacks were a blatant violation of all international laws and conventions, resulting in 10 deaths and 88 injuries.
The Committee added that it continues to receive calls from patients trapped in the two neighborhoods and is coordinating with the relevant authorities to ensure their safe evacuation as soon as possible.
