Kuwait City, Dec. 14 (SANA) The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned on Sunday the terrorist attack that targeted a joint Syrian-American security patrol near Palmyra. The attack resulted in several casualties, including the deaths of two US soldiers and a civilian translator, as well as injuries to Syrian and American personnel.
In a statement posted on X, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a “flagrant violation of international law” and a clear threat to regional peace and security. The statement reiterated Kuwait’s firm stance against violence, terrorism, and criminal acts, regardless of their motives.
Kuwait also expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and extended sympathy to the governments and peoples of both the Syrian Arab Republic and the United States. The Ministry wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
The attack occurred while Syrian and US forces were conducting a joint field patrol near the city of Palmyra. The assault involved gunfire from armed assailants, resulting in the death of two US soldiers and a civilian interpreter, as well as the injury of three American soldiers and two Syrian security personnel.
