GCC strongly condemns the entry of Israeli officials into southern Syria

Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned the escalatory actions taken by Israeli officials, describing them as a grave infringement of Syria’s sovereignty.

Albudaiwi said ‘’the provocative entry of the Israeli Prime Minister and several government officials into the border region in southern Syria “constitutes an unacceptable violation.” He emphasized that “infringing the sovereignty of states or threatening their borders represents a breach of international legitimacy.”

He called on the international community to take immediate and responsible action to halt repeated Israeli violations and prevent the region from sliding into further tension that threatens both regional and international peace.

Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC’s consistent position on supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and security in accordance with international law and the principles of the UN Charter.
