Amman, Sept. 27 (SANA) Syria’s national men’s football team drew 1-1 with Jordan in an international friendly at King Abdullah II Stadium in Amman on Sunday.
Jordan took the lead in the 27th minute when Ali Olwan scored with a shot from outside the penalty area.
Syria equalized in the 51st minute through Jan Mustafa, who found the net after breaking through one-on-one against the Jordanian goalkeeper.
The match was part of both teams’ preparations for the AFC Asian Cup, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia early next year.
The Asian Cup draw placed Syria in Group C alongside Iran, China and Kyrgyzstan.
