Berlin, Aug. 20 (SANA) England striker Harry Kane received the second European Golden Shoe of his career at a ceremony held Wednesday at the Bayern Munich Museum.
Kane claimed the award after scoring 36 goals in the Bundesliga last season, finishing ahead of Manchester City’s Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, who scored 27, and Real Madrid’s French forward Kylian Mbappé, who netted 25.
Kane previously won the Golden Shoe in his debut season with Bayern Munich in 2023-24, also after scoring 36 goals.
“I think winning the second Golden Shoe means even more than the first, considering what we achieved as a team by winning three titles, which gives this achievement a special significance,” Kane said.
After winning the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Super Cup, as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League semifinals and finishing third in the World Cup, Kane is considered one of the leading candidates for the Ballon d’Or, which will be awarded in London at the end of October.
