Washington, July 16 (SANA) Argentina defeated England 2-1 on Wednesday, securing a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final with a dramatic late comeback in Atlanta.
England took the lead in the 55th minute through Anthony Gordon, but Argentina responded late as Enzo Fernández equalized in the 85th minute before substitute Lautaro Martínez scored the winner in stoppage time to send the defending champions into a second consecutive World Cup final.
Argentina will face Spain in Sunday’s final at New York New Jersey Stadium after Spain defeated France 2-0 in the other semifinal on Tuesday.
