Mexico City, June 19 (SANA) Mexico became the first team to secure a place in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a 1-0 victory over South Korea in Guadalajara on Thursday.
Luis Romo scored the only goal of the match in the 50th minute at Akron Stadium in Mexico’s second Group A fixture.
The win lifted Mexico to six points at the top of the group after opening their campaign with a 2-0 victory over South Africa.
South Korea remain second with three points, while the Czech Republic and South Africa are third and fourth respectively, each with one point.
Mexico will face the Czech Republic in their final group-stage match, while South Korea will take on South Africa.
