Aleppo/Hama, June 10 (SANA) Ahli Aleppo secured a 78-75 victory over Al-Fidaa of Homs in the Syrian Men’s Basketball Final 6 on Tuesday at Al-Shahbaa Sports Hall in Aleppo.
Al-Fidaa started strongly before Ahli Aleppo overturned the deficit late in the opening quarter to take a 25-19 lead. Ahli maintained its advantage in the second quarter and went into halftime ahead 46-41.
The third quarter remained closely contested, with both teams exchanging the lead, but Ahli Aleppo ended the period in front 64-62 before holding on to win by three points.
In the second game of the round, played at Nasseh Al-Alwani Hall in Hama, Al-Nawair defeated Al-Karama 89-76.
Al-Nawair trailed 47-42 at halftime but mounted a strong comeback and pulled away in the final quarter to secure a 13-point victory.
The Final 6 competition continues on Wednesday with Al-Wahda set to face Al-Shabiba at Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
