Damascus, June 7 (SANA) Al-Wahda came from behind to defeat Ahli Aleppo 94-87 on Saturday in one of the standout matchups of the Syrian Men’s Basketball League Final Six stage at Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
League leaders Al-Wahda entered the game looking to extend their winning run and strengthen their grip on top spot, backed by a capacity crowd at their home arena.
Ahli Aleppo, meanwhile, sought to cut the gap on the leaders and build momentum ahead of the Final Four phase.
In a closely contested game played before a packed and vocal crowd, Ahli Aleppo held an eight-point advantage at halftime after a strong first-half performance.
Al-Wahda responded after the break, overturning the deficit with an impressive second-half display to secure a seven-point victory and maintain their winning form.
The result follows Al-Wahda’s 82-71 victory in the first-leg meeting between the two sides, further consolidating the Damascus club’s position at the top of the Final Six standings as the season approaches its decisive stage.
