Monterrey, April 1 (SANA) Iraq qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals after a 2-1 victory over Bolivia in the intercontinental playoff decider on Monday.

Ali Al-Hamadi gave Iraq an early lead in the 10th minute before Bolivia equalized in the 38th. Aymen Al-Hussein restored Iraq’s advantage in the 53rd minute to secure the win at Monterrey Stadium.

The victory sends Iraq back to the World Cup for the first time since their only previous appearance in 1986, which was also held in Mexico.
