Zürich, June 1 (SANA) Georgian international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season after helping Paris Saint-Germain secure the 2025/26 title, UEFA announced.
The 25-year-old winger scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 16 Champions League appearances, including seven goals in the knockout stages. He played a key role in PSG’s title-winning campaign, which culminated in a penalty shootout victory over Arsenal in the final on May 30.
Kvaratskhelia succeeded teammate Ousmane Dembele, who won the award last season. He was also selected for UEFA’s 2025/26 Champions League Team of the Season alongside PSG teammates Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Dembele.
Since joining Napoli in 2022, Kvaratskhelia has established himself among Europe’s leading players, helping the Italian club win its first Serie A title in more than 30 years. He also played a central role in guiding Georgia to its first UEFA European Championship appearance and a place in the knockout stage.
Kvaratskhelia became only the second Georgian player to win two UEFA Champions League titles after Kakha Kaladze, who achieved the feat with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007.
