Homs, May 2 (SANA) Syrian club al-Karama has signed American guard Jeremiah Gambrell Jr. to bolster its men’s basketball team ahead of the decisive “Final 6” stage of the domestic league, the club said.
The 26-year-old point guard, who stands 191 cm tall, joins as part of a push to strengthen the team’s offense during the championship round. Gambrell began his career in U.S. college basketball before moving to Europe, where he played in Serbia and North Macedonia. He most recently competed in Lebanon with Antranik.
Gambrell arrives in Homs after a strong season in the Lebanese league, where he averaged 23.7 points across 19 games. He also contributed 5.8 assists per game and 4.1 rebounds.
His shooting numbers underline his efficiency, converting 59 percent of his attempts inside the arc, 35 percent from three-point range, and 85 percent from the free-throw line.
Al-Karama is aiming to leverage the new signing as it seeks to contend for the league title in the final phase of the competition.
