Dubai, Feb. 9 (SANA) Syria’s karate team won four medals at the Dubai Open International Karate Championship, held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Athletes representing Syria came from Daraa province. Issa al-Atmeh claimed gold in the 52 kg category, while Adam al-Mutheeb secured gold in the 40 kg category, both in the under-14 division.
In the under-18 division, Mohammad Bakr Siria won gold in the 55 kg category, while Taher al-Sharif earned silver in the 68 kg category.
Competitors from 18 countries took part in the tournament.
