Paris-SANA- Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has been crowned the winner of the prestigious Onze d’Or, an annual award presented by the renowned French magazine Onze Mondial to the best football player in the world.
Dembélé topped the readers’ poll on the magazine’s official website, securing 32.5% of the votes and edging out Spanish rising star Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona, who received 30%.
Winning the Onze d’Or is widely regarded as a strong indicator for future success in the Ballon d’Or race. Since the award’s inception in 1976, most recipients have gone on to claim the Ballon d’Or—except in years when South American players won the Onze d’Or prior to the Ballon d’Or becoming a unified global honor
