Ankara, April 16 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa said that Türkiye has been a supporter for the Syrian people’s revolution throughout 14 years, standing by “our oppressed people; we are united by ancient historical ties and geography.”

Speaking to Anadolu News Agency on Thursday, the President affirmed that the Syrian-Turkish partnership is a foundation upon which much will be built for the future security of the region and the entire world.

“Syria has transformed from a state of crisis into a profound historical opportunity toward stability, reconstruction, and rebuilding anew,” the President said.

He added that Syria represents a safe corridor and an alternative route for energy supplies and supply chains, particularly regarding the connectivity between the Arabian Gulf and Türkiye.

“Israel met Syria with brutality and occupied part of the territories adjacent to the occupied Golan; we have chosen the path of diplomacy and persuading the international community to assist in preventing further escalation,” President al-Sharaa said.

President Ahmad al-Sharaa added that today, the last foreign base has departed from northeastern Syria, and the integration process between the ‘SDF’ and the Syrian state is underway; this is a major achievement for the benefit of Syria.
