Presidential Decree for Official Holidays in Syria

Presidential Decree for Official Holidays in Syria

President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. (188) of 2025, which sets the official holidays and the days on which workers subject to the provisions of the Basic Law for State Workers are entitled to a holiday with full pay.

The decree introduces two additional official holidays: Liberation Day (December 8) and Syrian Revolution Day (March 18).

According to the decree, the official holidays and days off for Syrian employees will include:

🔹Eid al-Fitr

🔹Eid al-Adha

🔹Hijri New Year

🔹Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday

🔹New Year’s Day (January 1)

🔹Christmas (for all Christians, December 25)

🔹Mother’s Day (March 21)

🔹Independence Day (April 17)

🔹Easter (for Eastern Christian denominations)

🔹Easter (for Western Christian denominations)

🔹Labor Day (May 1)

🔹Liberation Day (December 8)

🔹Syrian Revolution Day (March 18)
