Vienna, Oct. 5 (SANA) A Syrian anti-narcotics delegation took part in technical consultations with United Nations experts in Vienna on investigating and dismantling clandestine laboratories and safely handling hazardous chemicals.

The delegation, headed by Brig. Gen. Khaled Eid, director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, attended the session at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) with experts and officials from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The consultations focused on investigating and dismantling clandestine laboratories, developing procedures and forensic evidence collection, and safely managing hazardous waste.

Discussions also addressed strengthening international cooperation and exchanging security expertise, as well as enhancing Syria’s national response to narcotic substances and hazardous chemicals.
