Amman, Oct. 2 (SANA) King Abdullah II of Jordan renewed warnings Friday against the destabilizing impact of escalating Israeli occupation military operations in southern Syria, reaffirming Amman’s firm stance alongside Damascus in its efforts to safeguard national security, stability, and territorial integrity.
According to the official Petra News Agency, King Abdullah voiced these concerns during a telephone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, focused on regional de-escalation strategies and bilateral ties between Amman and Washington.
The Jordanian monarch stressed the imperative of securing a comprehensive regional calm that guarantees the security and sovereignty of Arab nations, emphasizing the pivotal role played by the United States in facilitating regional stability.
King Abdullah also reviewed the key outcomes of the recent “Aqaba Process” meeting hosted in France, which focused on mobilizing international financial and logistical support for the Lebanese Armed Forces to enable them to uphold national security and institutional stability across Lebanon.
The diplomatic engagement follows statements made by the Jordanian monarch last Wednesday, where he underlined the critical necessity of supporting both Syrian and Lebanese state efforts to maintain security, internal stability, and national sovereignty.
