Islamabad, June 22 (SANA) Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Monday that talks between Iran and the United States held in Switzerland had yielded positive results, describing the discussions as a constructive step toward easing regional tensions.
Sharif said in a post on X that the talks were conducted in a positive atmosphere and led to tangible progress. According to statements cited by Reuters, the parties agreed on a roadmap aimed at reaching a final agreement within 60 days and decided to establish a high-level committee to oversee the next phase of negotiations.
The latest round of discussions began Sunday in Geneva as part of broader diplomatic efforts addressing regional and international issues, including Iran’s nuclear program and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier on Monday, Qatar and Pakistan said in a joint statement that high-level discussions involving Iran and the United States, held in the Swiss city of Lucerne, had produced positive outcomes and reflected ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and regional stability.
The statement underscored the importance of diplomatic engagement in addressing regional challenges and supporting efforts to reduce tensions through dialogue.
