Berlin, May 21 (SANA) Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, security and stability during talks with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in Berlin on Wednesday.
According to Jordan’s Petra news agency, the meeting took place at the start of the crown prince’s visit to the German capital and also addressed regional developments and bilateral cooperation between Jordan and Germany.
Prince Hussein stressed Jordan’s commitment to continuing support for Syria, Lebanon and Iraq in efforts aimed at preserving security and stability, describing regional stability as essential for broader peace in the Middle East.
The two sides discussed ongoing developments in the region and emphasized the need for comprehensive de-escalation efforts to restore stability.
The Jordanian crown prince also said regional tensions should not divert international attention from Gaza and the West Bank, calling for increased international efforts to confront illegal Israeli measures and attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem.
The discussions also focused on expanding Jordanian-German cooperation in economic, technological and educational sectors, as well as preparations for the Jordan-European investment conference scheduled later this year.
Separately, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reiterated Wednesday his country’s support for Syria’s security, stability and territorial integrity during talks with Irish Foreign Minister Helen McEntee in Dublin.
