Doha, March 23 (SANA) – Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Monday called for a return to dialogue and the adoption of restraint to contain escalating tensions in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the two ministers discussed in a phone call the ongoing military escalation and its serious implications for regional and international security, emphasizing the need to resolve disputes through peaceful means.
They stressed the importance of enhanced coordination and intensified joint efforts to halt escalation, return to negotiations, and prioritize reason and wisdom to contain the crisis, ensuring global energy security, freedom of navigation, environmental safety, and regional stability.
The ministers also exchanged condolences over the victims of a military helicopter crash in Qatari territorial waters caused by a technical malfunction.
The talks come amid ongoing Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting several countries in the region, including Qatar, since February 28, resulting in casualties and material damage.
