U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio calls Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi expressing Washington’s full support for Jordan, SANA

Amman, March 1 (SANA) U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed Washington’s full support for Jordan during a phone call with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Saturday evening, following Iranian attacks on Jordanian territory.

According to the Jordan News Agency, Rubio conveyed U.S. solidarity with Jordan and affirmed support for all measures the kingdom takes to safeguard its citizens, security and sovereignty.

Safadi said Jordan would take all necessary steps to protect its people and national security. He condemned the Iranian assaults on Jordanian territory and several Arab countries, describing the strikes as “unjustified.”

Safadi also called for intensified efforts to bolster regional security and stability, stressing that diplomacy remains essential to resolving the crisis and preventing further escalation.

Since Saturday, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait have come under Iranian missile and drone attacks, resulting in civilian injuries and property damage.
