Kyiv, Feb. 17 (SANA) Ukraine’s chief of staff said on Tuesday that the country’s delegation had departed for Geneva for a new round of negotiations with Russia under U.S. mediation.
Kyrylo Budanov wrote on Telegram: “On the way to Geneva. The next round of talks is ahead.”
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine would not make territorial concessions to Russia under any circumstances and would not repeat what he described as the “mistake of 2014,” when Kyiv lost control of Crimea. However, he added that Ukraine would maintain a constructive stance during negotiations.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said a wide range of issues would be discussed in Geneva, including territorial matters.
Peskov added that President Vladimir Putin remains in constant contact with Russian negotiators and had given them detailed instructions before their departure.
The talks are being held under U.S. auspices. The previous two rounds took place in Abu Dhabi as part of efforts to resolve outstanding issues in a peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
