Keir Starmer: Humanitarian catastrophe must end

London, SANA – UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Saturday that the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza Strip is absolutely horrific and must end now, stressing his country’s determination to provide food and life-saving support to Palestinians in the Strip.

“Israeli forces’ bombing of hundreds of civilians as they sought aid, and the killing of children while collecting water, is a humanitarian catastrophe that must end now,” Starmer said in an article in the British newspaper “Daily Mirror.”

The British official condemned the denial of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, especially children and infants, as well as the continued detention of hostages and Israeli military escalation in Gaza.

Starmer renewed his call for a ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that this must be preceded by recognition of a Palestinian state.
