Ankara, Feb. 10 (SANA) Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, stated Tuesday that Türkiye is closely monitoring developments in Syria, describing the recent agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as a positive step toward stability.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Kyrgyz counterpart in Ankara, Kurtulmuş highlighted Türkiye’s longstanding priorities regarding Syria: safeguarding its territorial integrity, combating terrorism, and ensuring inclusive representation of all Syrian communities in the country’s political process.
He underscored that Türkiye remains committed to supporting peace initiatives and strengthening security, noting that these efforts are vital not only for Syria but also for the stability of Türkiye and the wider region.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently echoed this stance, stressing that Syria’s stability and unity are a strategic necessity for regional security. He emphasized the deep historical, geographical, and cultural ties between the two nations, describing the relationship between their peoples as one of enduring brotherhood.
