Riyadh, Feb. 9 (SANA) Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and intelligence chief Hussein al-Salama are participating in the meeting of Political Directors of the International Coalition to Defeat ISIS, being held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The Syrian officials arrived on Sunday in Riyadh to join talks at the meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.
Later, al-Shaibani said that Syria is regaining the initiative, reaffirming its role in partnership and leadership in the fight against ISIS, which strengthens Syrian national interests and enjoys increasing international support.
“Our meeting today was constructive and fruitful, and we emphasized that supporting Syria is a shared responsibility to enhance security and stability,” the Minister added.
He concluded “We thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States and all participating countries for their efforts and support for Syria and its people.”
