Ankara, Jan. 19 (SANA) Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) said Monday that the ceasefire agreement and the full integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the institutions of the Syrian state constitute an important foundation for strengthening Syria’s unity.

In a statement carried by Anadolu Agency, Ömer Çelik, spokesperson for the AKP, said that the “ceasefire and full integration agreement” represents a clear declaration of a move toward internal cohesion in Syria.

Çelik also praised the decree issued by Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa concerning the rights of Kurds in the country, stressing that safeguarding their rights under this decree is of great importance.

On Jan. 16, President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 13 of 2026, affirming that Syrian Kurds are an essential and integral part of the Syrian people, and that their cultural and linguistic identity is an inseparable component of Syria’s diverse and unified national identity.
