AMMAN, Jan. 14 (SANA) Jordan on Tuesday strongly condemned the storming of al-Aqsa Mosque (Al-Haram al-Sharif) by Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, calling it a flagrant violation of international law.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fuad al-Majali described the act as an unacceptable provocation and escalation.
He warned of the consequences of these ongoing illegal and provocative actions against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Al-Majali called on Israel, the occupying power, to halt all provocative measures by the extremist minister.
The spokesperson also stated that the act reflects the policy of the current Israeli government, which leads to dangerous escalation and unilateral measures in the West Bank, as well as violations of the sanctity of religious sites in occupied Jerusalem.
Israeli officials and settlers have repeatedly entered the al-Aqsa compound, increasing near-daily tensions, alongside violations at religious sites and in towns and villages across the West Bank.
