Ankara, Jan.13 (SANA) Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) on Monday reiterated its support for Syria’s unity and sovereignty, stressing that Syrian Kurds are an integral part of a unified Syrian state.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the party’s executive committee, AKP spokesperson Omer Celik said that SDF organization is deliberately delaying or repeatedly undermining negotiations with the Syrian government.
Celik said attempts by the SDF to portray opposition to its stance as hostility toward Kurds were “false” and part of the group’s propaganda.
He said the goal remains the implementation of a March 10 agreement aimed at establishing a unified Syrian state with one army and one government. Celik added that the SDF has taken no positive steps toward implementing the deal over the past 10 months, instead seeking to push the process toward confrontation
The March 10, 2025 agreement between the SDF and the Syrian government provides for the integration of civilian and military institutions in northeastern Syria into state bodies and reaffirms the country’s territorial unity.
