Al-Wais also praised Jordan’s solidarity with the Syrian people and stressed that the upcoming period requires coordinated efforts to combat drug trafficking and cross-border crime. He noted that judicial and legal coordination between the two countries constitutes a cornerstone for achieving these goals.
For his part, Minister al-Talhouni affirmed Jordan’s full support for Syria’s efforts to strengthen stability and rebuild its institutions, particularly the judiciary, which he described as a fundamental pillar of societal security and stability. He highlighted that a stable Syria contributes positively to the security and stability of the entire region.

Since Syria’s liberation, relations between Syria and Jordan have seen increasing coordination in combating drugs and cross-border crimes. After the ousted regime turned Syria into a hub for manufacturing and smuggling drugs across borders, threatening neighboring countries. Syrian authorities are now actively working to eradicate this threat and prevent Syrian territory from being used as a route or safe haven for drug trafficking and distribution.
