Erdogan: March 10 SDF agreement will strengthen Syria’s unity and stability

Ankara, Dec. 13 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed that Turkey is committed to promoting security, peace, and prosperity for the Syrian people.

He said implementing the March 10 agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) would reinforce Syria’s unity, territorial integrity, and stability, while supporting its path toward a prosperous future.Speaking to journalists aboard his plane on Saturday as he returned from Turkmenistan, Erdogan said, “Recent divisions and conflicts have brought no benefit to Syria.

It is important for the Syrian government to move forward with a vision that unites all Syrians. This approach is valuable and deserves support.

”He added that while many parties may have ambitions regarding Syria, the most important perspective is that of the Syrian people themselves.

“The patient Syrian people are the ones shaping these realistic aspirations, and implementing the March 10 agreement will foil the schemes of those seeking to create divisions,” he said.

The March 10 deal between the Syrian government and the SDF provides for the integration of the forces into state institutions and reaffirms Syria’s territorial unity, rejecting any division.

On the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, Erdogan criticized Israel for continuing to violate the Gaza ceasefire, urging it to honor its commitments, restore normal life in the Strip, and meet the basic needs of Palestinians.
