Barcelona, Nov 29 (SANA) Foreign ministers of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) affirmed their support for the Syrian government’s efforts to rebuild the country on foundations that ensure security, stability, unity, and sovereignty, welcoming Syria’s reintegration into the Union after years of absence.
According to the Jordan News Agency, the ministers meeting in Barcelona, under the presidency of Jordan and the European Commission, reaffirmed in a joint statement issued at the 10th Regional Forum of Foreign Ministers of the Union their support for the joint Jordanian-Syrian-American roadmap aimed at stabilizing southern Syria and resolving the crisis in Sweida.
Syria participated in the 10th Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean with a delegation headed by Mohammad Bara Shukri, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, who stated earlier today: “Syria’s participation in the forum in Barcelona, after years of absence, represents an important step in rebuilding channels of communication between Syria and the Union’s member states.”
